Google email is a widely popular email client with numerous users worldwide, but Inbox shoots for a slightly different experience. Google unveiled its Inbox by Google email not as a replacement for Google email, but as an alternative.
Inbox by Google mail aims to make everything more organized, more convenient and easier to handle, and Google has been adding several improvements recently to combat spam and improve the overall mail experience. Just last week, the company introduced a new feature that encourages users to set reminders in email rather than sending emails to themselves, and another neat feature is now on the table.
A new feature called Snooze is now available in Inbox and, as the name itself suggests, it allows users to snooze some Google emails so they can review them later. It may not sound like much so far, but this new feature is particularly useful because it has best timing. Once you snooze a Google email, Inbox will bring it up again just when you need it.
Say, for instance, that you bought movie tickets for Thursday, and you receive an email messages in this regards on Tuesday. You don't need the email then, because you have plenty of time left, so you snooze it. Google email Inbox will bring it up again when it's a more appropriate time - in this case, it can remind you of that Google email on Thursday morning, just in time for your movie plans later that day.
To do so, Inbox by Google email takes into account any email that contains dates and times. This means that the new feature of Gmail will apply to event confirmations, flight information, digital tickets, reservations, calendar invites and such. Google suggests snoozing “event-related” Google emails until the day before the event, but users can customize the feature to better suit according to their style or needs.
"Snooze in Inbox is getting a bit more convenient when you snooze an mail that has dates and times (like event confirmations or shipping notification mail), you'll get a one-tap option to snooze to exactly the right time, like the day of your concert or the morning your package will arrive," Google explains.
The new Snooze options will not apply to all of your Google emails, but only to the ones where it's necessary. Snooze will work for emails regarding package tracking, calendar invites, reservations (restaurant, event, hotel, rental car), or flight confirmations etc.
